Ptarmigan operated in Tallinn from 2011-2014. We no longer maintain any presence in Tallinn, but this website will continue to serve as an archive of the activities produced at Ptarmigan during these years.

Are you interested in finding new hands-on ways of re-using everyday items that are considered waste? Do you have creative ideas on how to re-purpose everyday waste?
Join the first hands-on Trash Me Not (TMN) workshop organized by the Aalto Social Impact association (www.aaltosi.org) and facilitated by someone in the know! The workshop will take place on November, 17 from 17:00 - 20:00 at Ptarmigan.
This pilot workshop is facilitated by Hanna Peräkylä, MA student of textile art at the Aalto university school of Art and Design, and curious artist in the area of repurposing second hand material.
Hanna proposed "DIFFERENT VALUE" as the theme of this TMN workshop. Hanna will create a space where you can work with like-minded people on creative ideas of how to re-use, re-purpose, miss-use and hopefully reduce waste material, using your own trash!
In the workshop, Hanna will introduce her work, discuss about your ideas and incentives and in a hands-on creative session guide you to learn about her practice. The workshop will conclude with a presentation of all ideas and works created.
IMPORTANT: Please bring 1 or more items that you consider as waste to the workshop along with you! Remember, the theme is DIFFERENT VALUE, so don’t underestimate any kind of materials.
